I actually enjoyed this movie more than i thought. (I'm not a romcom kinda girl) I absolutely love the relationship between the Kate Winslet character and the older screenwriter and wish the movie would have been about that moreso. Cameron Diaz was so annoying as the stereotypical American. Jude Law was great as her romantic interest and Jack Black's characterization of the suave guy who isn't was spot on. Not really my cup of tea. But if you like this sort of film, then well, you'll prolly like it

After both get dumped, they decide to swap homes over Christmas. Of course, each new pad comes equipped with resident stud: Jude Law as Winslet's suave and sensitive brother, and the incredible Jack Black as Diaz' horny, hilarious co-worker.

I love this movie. I actually like the pairing of Kate Winslet and Jack Black. I don't know why, but it works.

A bit mushy, but I still liked it. Lots of emotion from the cast, especially Kate. I liked all the actors. Two thumbs up.

I was very pleasantly surprised, got the movie just in case it might be interesting. Don't care for any of the actors other than Eli Wallach. I now own it and have watched it more than once. It is a different story line. And enjoyable.

The writing is good (plot line, characters, etc.) but the acting leaves much to be desired. Jack Black is awkward, Kate Winslet does a good job of playing a delapidated, overspent newspaper writer and comes off as overall saaaaad, Cameron Diaz is Cameron Diaz. Jude Law is pretty good.
