Deliciously fun read! Great writing and great storyline coupled with a fabulous main character. Alan Bradley does a great job and I can't wait to read more in this series.
loved this installment of Flavia de Luce - she is truly entertaining and funny!
I'm not sure why this is an adult fiction book? Seems a bit more like young adult to me. It's ok, but I probably won't read the others with this character.
This series just gets better and better! I can't wait for the next!
Flavia maintains the same hilarious and endearing bite in this adventure, yet rings more true to her age in RED HERRING. The mystery of this third installment is not quite as compelling as the first two - so much more could have been developed with the creepy "Hobblers"! I appreciated this novel for it's character development of 11 year-old Flavia who is obviously struggling to become a young woman, as are her older sisters. Slowly Flavia is gaining mature social insight along the way. I loved catching a deeper glimpse into the ever-eccentric and emotionally surpressed De Luce family!
Flavia De Luce is up to her same old tricks; saving the local fortune teller and her granddaughter; looking for a child long missing; investigating both by the light of day, and the dark of night; putting together all the evidence before the local police. And, learning a little something about her mother.
Love the Flavia deLuce books. She is an 11 year old poison expert who helps solve mysteries while fighting with her older sisters.
