Slow moving - great book for a car ride or beach - not sure why it made the New Yorks Best Seller list
Another disappointing novel from Berg. Too light & fluffy. Her earlier novels were much better, ie Open House and Joy School.
This is a well-written book about a family's journey through life. The characters are all flawed people, as is the case in most of Berg's books. A terrifying event spurs the main protagonists, a young woman and her divorced parents, to make decisions that they may not have made otherwise. The character are all true to themselves and the decisions make a sort of sense when you consider each person and their motivations. The power of love among the characters is evident as well. The story is a great one for discussion groups, as there are many issues involved.
