"Payne, twin sister of Vishous, is cut from the same dark warrior cloth as her brother. "Payne, twin sister of Vishous, is cut from the same dark warrior cloth as her brother. Because she is a fighter by nature, and a maverick when it comes to the traditional role of Chosen females, there is no place for her on the Far Side ... and no role for her on the front lines of the war, either. When she suffers a paralyzing injury, human surgeon Dr. Manuel Manello is called in to treat her as only he can--and he soon gets sucked into her dangerous secret world. Although he never before believed in things that go bump in the night--like vampires--he finds himself more than willing to be seduced by the powerful female who marks both his body and his soul. As the two find so much more than an erotic connection, the human and vampire worlds collide ... just as a centuries-old score catches up with Payne and puts both her love and her life in deadly jeopardy."--Dust jacket flap.

This is almost as much a Vishous/Jayne/Butch story as it is a Payne/Manny story. But then, how can you seperate twins when one twin is the patient of the other twin's mate.

Yet another exciting addition to the Black Dagger Brotherhood series that is sure to please all romantic fantasy lovers. The plot line continues to develop as new characters are added to the existing larger than life characters. Ward's witty use of metaphors and flowery prose creates a fascinating picturesque story. A definite page turner.

Vishous has some real problems. First, Mommy-dearest has hidden his twin from him since he was three. Second, his sister is now paralyzed due to a training accident. Third he can't go after the guy who hurt his sister, because its Wrath, who is blind, his king, and a close friend. Fourth, his sister wants him to kill her if she can't be healed. Fifth, he is now fighting with Jane, because she tried a physician-assisted suicide on Payne that he walked in on. And last of all the stuff going down is that his baby sister is...Um, Yeah with her orthopededic surgeon Manny. With all the stress he's under he really needs a good BDSM session. But he can't Dom himself effectively, Jane can't take him as far as he needs to go, and the only person he trusts to take him that far is the one person he won't ask. After all, how exactly do you ask a good Irish-Catholic Vampire who happens to be your best friend that you need him to break you?

Don't crank my crap out and tell me they've hooked up. I'm waiting for you to tell me I'm wrong about this. Still Waiting."---Wrath
