Comment
Add a CommentNarratively, this is the story of the author who marries a Mexican student, 20 years younger than him. She dies in a freak accident and he is blamed for her dealth by her devoted mother. It is a novel of the their life together and the author deals with his grief by writing. I could not decide if the book were self-indulgent and sad or if it says somthing about love.
"Say Her Name, Goldman’s sublime and heart-rending new book, hovers somewhere between fiction and non-fiction, between memoir and novel, the present and the past, and the world of the living and the world of the dead.... A book about loss and grief and the attendant “guilt, shame, and dread, on an endless loop,” Say Her Name is also an unforgettable love story, a testament to a great love and love’s greatness."
