It was a movie about real life - some times life is just boring. Some things there are signs if we care enough to pay attention. Some times a husband doesn't listen to his wife and she seeks that attention somewhere else. Some times a woman is or isnt attracted to a woman. It's life.

Not very funny, not very deep, and not all that insightful. And the facile solution to the marriage in crisis was absolutely ridiculous.
Blech...

A single mom and her two grown up sons struggled to grow up and break out from their daily funk, all during the course of just another day ?! ... even its unlikely upbeat ending could not overcome the hopelessness portrayed in the rest of the movie.

OMG! Who would think such a simple movie would provide such insight and direction. I guess it was fate because it wasnt on my list of films to see but I scanned the movies at Evanston after a bad day, depressed and looking for a comedy, read the back of the dvd and thought, what the heck, I have no idea where my life is going and could use a laugh. That was thursday and while home cooking Saturday night I watched The Matrix and Signs on tv before settling on this flick to go to bed. Is that just a coincidence or fate? I dont know; Im in grad school working a temp job trying to figure out what the future (career) holds for me because I HATE everything. Maybe it means nothing and I need a shrink and drugs but this movie (and the ones on tv before) has definitely got me thinking about the small things that keep popping up in life that most ppl choose to ignore. Maybe I will start paying more attention to words and names that keep imprinting themselves on my brain and try to figure out what God wants me to do woth/for my 'Kevin' in life.

Halfway through, I *was* going to give this an average rating; I figured it was just a run of the mill, low key indie... Then the ending just knocked me for a loop. I got a lump in my throat and a little teary-eyed (I'm such a wuss sometimes). Very surprising. A real heartwarmer. Well done Duplass bros.

This movie was better than I expected it would be. It all comes together at the end...

Very heartwarming story. I picked this up at random and was pleasantly surprised. A really enjoyable comedy/drama.

This movie is not going to be everyone's cup of tea. The humor is understated and more on the dry side. The movie is solid, with more than a few really insightful and touching moments. It's a wonderful character study, and I'm glad to see that Jason Segel has more than two dimensions.
Do NOT go into this thinking you are going to see a comedy like "I Love You, Man", or "The Hangover". This isn't that kind of comedy.

Good movie about faith in signs that may be guiding us toward a higher purpose. Funny and moving. Marijuana use throughout.

I saw no humor in this movie
