This series is so boring I only got thru 1 1/2 episodes. How can such a crummy show win any awards, it is awful, not funny and stupid.

The first season of VEEP introduces the audience to VP Selina Meyer and her staff of sycophants. This comedy drama has plenty of one-liners as well as funny and awkward situations. Selina and her staff are kept out of the POTUS's loop although they do get updates and scorn from an obnoxious West Wing staffer. Selina (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) does tend to steal the show although her staff does add to the drama and humor. This is mostly a comedy so don't expect to see how Washington really works even though it may not be far from the truth.

This is an Emmy award winning cast. If you are expecting a serious political drama look elsewhere. This is a hilarious, raunchy, comedy series that makes high up political figures look like regular, everyday idiots. Veep definitely has my vote! Yes, there is a ton of cussing, but it's an HBO show, not a Lifetime series. Bottom line, this show is smart, with witty humor that can go crude at times, but it only aims to increase the comedic value of the piece and show us a side of Washington that we don't see. Perhaps even maybe a side that we would not even want to imagine, but one that is very, very funny.

Really boring. Humor is medicore at best. Nothing clever or entertaining about it.

Fairly good political satire similar to The Office. Dreyfus is perfectly cast as the venal, selfish and not so politically saavy Vice President. The rest of the cast are equally as venal and selfish, and that is where the comedy comes in. None of the characters are particularly likable, but we aren't supposed to like them, just laugh at them.
