Wow! Excellent movie. Tom Hanks has this incredible talent and ability to make you forget that you are warching Tom Hanks, he does this in his movie "Castaway" as well. You won't regret watching this movie.

Tom Hanks had nerves of steel during his ordeal with the hijackers. It's unfortunate that people around the world enjoy hurting others and covet what isn't theirs. At the end he broke down which was expected after what he went through. He did an excellent job and though I knew what the story was about, I always enjoy his acting.
Did the hijackers actually eat? I know one was called "Skinny" and that he was, but they did a good job casting people who looked like they were emaciated.

Tom Hanks makes this movie. He has Captain Phillips down to even his New England accent. He looks like he will give his life up for his ship and grew. Isn't that what we expect of Captain of a ship? I learned so much about hijacking cargo ships and sea navigation, I feel I could join a crew myself. Well, ;maybe for a day or so!

Solid acting all around. Survival is depicted as one of aggressors and defenders, and we see how one party can change from one to another easily.

It was interesting to see both the captives' and the pirates' perspectives on the situation. It is a suspenseful film especially since it is a true story.

Captivating story about survival and what one must do to show how he/ she must survive. Recommended.

Very good presentation of that widely publicized harrowing event. I *can't believe* that these merchant marine carried no actual weaponry for self defense other than fire hoses -- and they hid in the belly of the ship like schoolgirls...!!! What was it, forty men vs. four? 10:1 ratio?!?

The title of the movie is self explanatory you pretty much figure out how the movie will end.

The mark of a really great movie is that even though I know how it ends before I watch it, I'm on the edge of my seat all through it. Yikes!!
